Another thing to consider is how frequent the purifier needs replacement of parts. Lastly, consider how much power the air cleaner consumes as it works or on standby.

Purifiers using heat to clean the air are called thermo air cleaners. Working mechanism involves heating air passing through them. Before passing out, air contaminants like bacteria, viruses or fungi are killed in the purifier. Before releasing air to the atmosphere, it is cooled slightly. As the air is cooled, dust particles not affected by the heat are settled and therefore do not flow out.

Next we have the ultraviolet air purifiers. They have systems equipped with ultraviolet rays. Air is freed from contaminants by subjecting the contaminants to rays that make them inert. The filter makes air clean by sterilizing the pollutants and making them safe.

Next we have the High Efficiency Particulate Arrestance air purifiers. These use the simple trapping mechanism. It is mostly used to clean air contaminated by physical contaminants like dust. Particles like dust and dust are trapped and do not leave the cleaner. Parts of the air purifier may require regular servicing though this depends on how polluted the air is. An advantage is that it can be used together with the other purifiers.

Lastly, the other common type of air purifier is the activated carbon air cleaner. Its working applies adsorption to clean air. Gaseous contaminants are adsorbed and translated to solid materials. The HEPA air purifier can be used together with this air cleaner.
